Obituary of Robert S Horn

Horn, Robert S. "Bob" age 74 of Cedar Grove at rest in Hanover on January 30th, 2022. Bob was never one to sit home. As a bachelor he enjoyed night life and was out and about town most nights. Bob was an expert skier and perfected his skiing skills in Killington, Vermont and Lake Louise, Canada. He was an amateur photographer and a "car guy" who never lost his passion for cars or trains. A favorite day trip was watching sport car racing at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut. Bob was very interested in politics and always kept his cool while engaging in political discussions. Bob was a kind, gentle and generous man who never refused a request for a favor. Bob earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering. He had a long and successful career at Merck & Company. He joined Merck as a Chemical Engineer in the Central Engineering department. In time he moved into corporate management and was responsible for the design and construction of many pharmaceutical facilities and laboratories. He was also responsible for the procurement of a portion of Merck's supply chain. Bob will be missed by his sister Barbara Reed who resides in Morris Plains NJ and his brother Michael Horn residing in Cedar Grove NJ and nephews Gary Reed of Chicago IL and nephews Andy and Eric Horn from Chicago, IL. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Thursday, Feb. 3 at 10:00 AM. Committal to follow at Cedar Lawn Crematory Chapel, Paterson. Friends may visit on Wednesday, Feb. 2 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Tunnel to Towers and/or the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
