Obituary of Angelo Vella

Vella, Angelo age 93 of Southington, Ct., formerly of Totowa, at rest in New Britain, CT. on January 23, 2022. Beloved husband of sixty four years to the late and former Rose F. Bucci (2014), who was the love of her life. Loving father of Fran Silvestri and her husband Joseph of Meriden, CT and Nancy Vella De Blasio and her husband Armand of Ogdensburg. Dear grandfather of Armand De Blasio, Angela Weaver and her husband Brent, Daniel De Blasio and his wife Catherine, Joanna Holowczyk and her husband Paul, Nickolus De Blasio and Julia De Blasio. Great grandfather of Angelo and Enzo, Mia and Michael, Finley and Brielle and Althea Fay. Brother of Phyllis Manna of Toms River. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived most of his life in Totowa before moving to Southington, CT. in 2015. He was Owner/Partner of J.A.J Vending, Paterson, for many years before retiring in 1991. Mr. Vella was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the former Italian Circle and the former Franklin Pleasure Club, both in Paterson. He was an avid fan of the NFL and all of the underdogs. He made homemade wine and enjoyed playing cards. He also enjoyed vacationing with his family in Mannesquan. He also enjoyed fine cuisine. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Sunday from 3:00 - 7:00 PM.
