Smilek, Edward G. age 94 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on January 9, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Betsy (nee Jusino) Smilek. Loving father of Milton Smilek and Elizabeth Popp. Dear brother of Rose Cole and the late Teresa Cohen. Also survived by five grandchildren. Born in Hackensack, he lived most of his life in Paterson. He was a Chemist for the United States Government for many years before retiring. Mr. Smilek was a United States Korean War Army Veteran. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Bonaventure R.C. Church, Paterson at 9:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Wednesday 4:00-8:00 PM. For more information, go to www.festamemorial.com.
