Obituary of Concetta Ruggiero

Ruggiero, Concetta "Connie" (nee Ferrante), 88 of Wayne, formerly of Totowa, at rest in Oakland on December 3, 2021. Beloved wife of sixty eight years to Antonino "Nino" Ruggiero of Wayne. Loving mother of Jo Ann Risi and her husband Daniel of Wayne and Antonio "Anthony" Ruggiero and his wife Julianne of Groton, Massachusetts. Dear grandmother of Mark Risi and Danielle Risi, both of Wayne. Born in Gela, Prov. di Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy, she came to the USA in 1954 settling in Paterson before moving to Totowa in 1962 before moving to Wayne recently. She was a Seamstress for various coat factories in Paterson for many years before retiring in 1995. After that, she became a full time Homemaker and raised her grandchildren. Mrs. Ruggiero was a long time parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. She was a member of the I.L.G.W.U., New York, NY. She was a member of the Totowa Seniors. She enjoyed tending to her floral and herb garden and she loved the Jersey shore. She was a great cook and she taught her grandchildren how to cook. She was generous to a fault and would help anyone who asked. Concetta was a devoted wife of sixty eight years and a loving caretaker to her spouse. She was the Matriarch of her family and raised and cherished her grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Wednesday from 3:00 - 7:00 PM.
