Obituary of Luigi Curcio

Please share a memory of Luigi to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Luigi Curcio, at peace after spending 93 years in heroic fashion - the embodiment of the American Dream. Luigi grew up tending to his many sheep in Polla, Italy, which he spoke of often. In the same manner which he ensured his sheep were safe, he did so for his family. While only attending school until the second grade, he perservered and moved to the United States of America to fulfill his dream when he was 24 years old. Upon arrival, he worked long factory hours at Nabisco and saved all he could in order to bring his beloved and devoted wife of 70 years, his "amore mio" Caterina, and first son, Angelo to join him two years later. Upon arrival, Caterina remembers that he had already made a furnished home. Luigi would go on to bring parents and siblings over to the US as well. In the US, Luigi and Caterina would have two additional children, Maria and Ralph. The five members of this family, whom Luigi loved more than life itself, would go on to open multiple restaurants, including Sun Ray Pizza, build homes together, vegetable gardens, a wine cellar, and most importantly 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Luigi spent his free time singing, dancing, telling stories, teaching lessons, and watching soccer with his loved ones. No matter what, he always ensured we were safe and always strove to do the right thing. His love, legacy, and devoted work ethic will live on through surviving family. Luigi often thought about fallen family members with tears in his eyes, and has left this world to reunite in Heaven with his parents, siblings, and first granddaughter Brienne. He is survived by wife, Caterina; son Angelo and wife Adrienne; daughter Maria; son Ralph and wife Grace; grandchildren Danielle, Christian, Noelle, Collette, Gino, Lissette, Lucas, Nikki, Zach, Luigi, and Frank along with 26 great-grandchildren.
