Obituary of Helen Rigolo

Rigolo, Helen (nee Schnobeck), age 99 of Totowa at rest in Bloomingdale on August 17, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Charles J. Rigolo (1974). Loving mother of Carole J. Cantius of Woodstock, NY, Janis L. Spear and her husband Donald of Butler, Connie Gauweiler and her husband Charles of PA. Dear grandmother of Alice G. Berry, Jennifer L. Buckwald and her husband David, Robert Spear and his wife Amii, Charles Thomas Gauweiler and his wife Heather, Scott R. Gauweller and his fiancee Jacqueline, John J. Gauweiler and his wife Alexa and Step granddaughter Wendy Shilensky. Also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Paterson, then Totowa for most of her life. She was an Administrative Assistant for North Jersey Developmental Center, Totowa, for many years before retiring in 1987. Mrs. Rigolo was a long-time member of the Totowa United Methodist Church and a member of their women's club. She was famous for her cheesecake. She was also a member and past president of the VFW #10104, Totowa. She was an avid bowler and was on a league. She bowled a 277 at the age of 76. She did craft night every Tuesday and crocheted afghans for all of her grandchildren. Helen was a huge Dodgers fan and was upset when they moved to California. She cherished any time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday at 11:30 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Friends may visit Friday from 10:30 AM- 11:30 AM.
