Obituary of Lucia Denequolo

Denequolo, Lucia (nee Mattera) age 98 of Totowa at rest in Wayne on July 28, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Denequolo (1974). Loving mother of Minnie Petolino of Totowa. Dear grandmother of Lisa Peller & her husband Jason, Sherri Popovic & her husband Tomislav and the late Joseph W. Petolino (and his wife Deborah). Devoted great grandmother of Sam Peller, Arianna Peller, Nico William Petolino, Ana Popovic, Nikola Popovic and Valentino G. Popovic. Born in Serrara Fontana, Ischia, Italy, she came to the United States in 1948 residing in Paterson before moving to Totowa in 1977. She was a Hairdresser for Jerry's Salon, North Haledon before retiring. Lucia was a member of the Deborah Hospital Foundation. Every Monday night, she would cook for a large group of friends. Lucia enjoyed going to Diane Malzone's cookie parties. She was a loving woman that loved to be in the company of family and friends.  She was an extraordinary cook and shared her love of cooking with all.  Her joy of living was evident every day of her life.  She looked forward to trips to Florida to be with her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Monday at 11:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary's RC Church, Paterson at 11:30 AM. Interment at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Monday 9:00 - 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
