Obituary of Darlene M Gambuti

Gambuti, Darlene M., age 87, long-time resident of Paterson and Butler, currently of Manahawkin, NJ, died Monday, May 10, 2021 surrounded by family in her home. Darlene was born on June 29, 1933 in Paterson to the late Helen (nee Wright) and Donald Bushore. She retired from the NJ State Police after more than 30 years, where she worked in the Organized Crime and Narcotics Unit. She enjoyed cooking and hosting her family for meals, shopping, the slot machines in Atlantic City and the Jersey Shore. In her younger years, she loved to roller skate. Darlene worked tirelessly and unselfishly to create a warm and loving home for her family. She was a devoted wife to the late Angelo, her high school sweetheart, and a devoted mother to eight children: Michael and his wife Ann of San Antonio, TX; Greg and his wife Maryellen of Vernon, NJ; Rick and his wife Sue of Milton, DE; Lisa and her husband Michael Knapp of West Berlin, NJ; Kim of Manahawkin, NJ; Lori of Manahawkin, NJ; and Chris and his wife Cindy of Barnegat, NJ. She was predeceased by her son, Scott in 1995. Darlene has twenty grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 9:00 AM, with funeral mass to follow at 9:30 AM at St. Mary Help of Christians Church, 410 Union Ave., Paterson. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Paterson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to American Heart Association for the fight against heart disease.
