Marcio Rafael Ortez, 66, of Paterson passed away at his residence on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Born in El Progreso, Honduras, Rafael studied in the Instituto Departamental El Progreso and was an active soccer player in the Club Deportivo Lenca. He immigrated to United Estates in 1984 and resided in Paterson. He worked as a warehouse manager for Richelieu, Lincoln Park, for 36 years. In addition to being a beloved husband and dedicated father he always gave back to his precious Progreso. Annually he participated with the Club Rotario's Roprogol event in Honduras to raise funds for the less fortunate in Progreso. Rafael is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Victoria Ortez, his children Marcia Anaglate and her husband David, Marcio R. Ortez, Jr., his 6 grandchildren, his siblings Mavilia Ortez, Aleida Ortez and Santa Pisaniello and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa for visitation on Friday, May 7th from 4:00-8:00 PM and a funeral service on Saturday, May 8th at 11:00 AM. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marcio's memory to the ASPCA at aspca.org.
