Obituary of Rosa Nicosia

Please share a memory of Rosa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Friends and family celebrate the life of Rosa Nicosia (nee Bosa) of Totowa, age 77. On April 27, 2021, Rosetta was called home to God. Rosetta is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gaetano; her cherished children who were her pride and joy: John Nicosia (Maria) of Totowa, Frank Nicosia of Totowa, and Teresa Nale (Dan) of Medford. Rosetta was a loving Nonna to six grandchildren who were the light of her life: Kassidy, Isabella, Ava, Frank, Gianna, and Victoria. She is also survived by her siblings: Luciano Bosa, Angelo Bosa, Anna (Domenico) Ientile, Maria Foscoli, Lidia (Gianni) Piu, Giuseppe (Irina) Bosa, and Antonio (Marina) Bosa and many nieces and nephews. Rosetta was predeceased by her parents, Francesco and Angela Bosa (nee Vedda) of Genova, Italy and by her siblings Francesca Domicolo, Vincenzo Bosa, Carmela Bosa. Rosetta was born in Licata, Sicilia in Italy in 1943 and immigrated to Paterson, NJ in 1968, but was always proud of her Italian heritage. She shared her passion for all things Italian with whomever she crossed paths, even strangers. She lived for many years in Paterson before moving to Totowa in 1993. She was a devoted wife and mother who worked endlessly to create a warm and loving home for her family. Friends were always welcome at holiday gatherings and there was always an abundance of food that would be left over for days. She was quick-witted and loved to play Scopa with her kids and grandkids and you had better watch her, because she loved to cheat. She also loved to shop, especially for her grandchildren. If you lost her in a store, inevitably you would find that she had wandered off to the kid`s section to look for gifts for them. She was always so generous to her family, friends, and those in need. She donated regularly to Saint Anthony`s and St. Jude`s, because it broke her heart to see children suffering. Along with being the matriarch, she was also a seamstress and devout Catholic. With her strong faith, she spent her life praising God and all of His miracles, attending church often, and praying to the Saints to watch over her family. She will be deeply missed. Riposa in Pace, bella Mamma! Ti vogliamo tanto tanto tanto bene! Visitation will be held at Festa Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 pm. Her funeral mass will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. James of the Marches Church in Totowa (please meet directly at the church for the mass). Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Expressions of sympathy may be made to her family at (www.festamemorial.com). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rosetta`s memory to St. James of the Marches Parish or Father English Food Pantry in Paterson, NJ.
