Garcia, Mercedes (nee Rivera), age 85 of Paterson at rest in Wayne on April 23, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Americo Garcia. Loving mother of Miguel Colon and his wife Eva, Nilda Montanez, Ercilia Caraballo and her husband Samuel, Jimmy Vazquez and his wife Maribel, Aracelis Vazquez, Alicia Figueroa and her husband Luis, Madeline Rivera and her husband Kevin, and the late Jose Vazquez (2019). Dear sister of Joaquina Gonzalez. Also survived by eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Born in Catano, Puerto Rico, she came to the Mainland in 1973 and resided in Paterson. She was a Homemaker. Mrs. Garcia was a member of the United Brothers in Christ Church, Paterson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Thursday at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Wednesday 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
