Abate, Antonio age 89 of Totowa at rest in Paterson on March 8, 2021. Beloved husband of Rosa (nee Rubino) Abate of Totowa. Loving father of Gerry Abate of Totowa and John Abate & his wife Tracy of Middlesex Boro. Adoring grandfather of Alexis, Amanda, and Anthony Abate. Dear son of the late Gennaro and the late Albina (nee Conforti) Abate. Dear brother of Amelia Rose Chiodo of Australia. Born in Sant' Arsenio, Prov. di Salerno, Italy, he lived in Italy for 26 years before emigrating to Australia. He lived in Australia for 14 years before immigrating to the United States and settling in Paterson. Antonio lived in Paterson for 5 years before moving to Totowa. He was a Mason for Ottilio & Sons, Totowa, for 26 years before retiring in 1996. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. James RC Church, Totowa on Thursday at 10:30 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Visitation is private at the request of the family.
