Obituary of Ignazia Carnemolla

Carnemolla, Ignazia “Zedda” (nee Ricci), age 88 of Woodland Park at rest in Paterson on December 10, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Emanuele Carnemolla (2005). Loving Mother of Maria Grazia Carnemolla-Mania and her husband Christopher of Woodland Park, Pietro Carnemolla and his wife Audrey of Woodland Park and Antonio Carnemolla and his wife Dina of Little Falls. Dear grandmother of Cristina Rivera and her husband Alex, Amanda Hayek and her husband Jimmy, Anthony Carnemolla, Cristofer Carnemolla, Ava Mania and Christan Mania. Great grandmother of Nick and Leo Hayek and Ciella Rivera. Sister of Maria Ricci and Salvatore Ricci, both of Italy, Giovanni Ricci of Woodland Park and Michael Ricci of Woodland Park. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Born in Marina, Prov. di Ragusa, Sicily, Italy, she came to the U.S.A. in 1973 settling in Paterson before moving to West Paterson in 1990. She was a Cook for Holy Family Residence, West Paterson for eleven years before retiring in 1992. Mrs. Carnemolla was a great cook specializing in pasta sauce and scacce. She loved to watch old movies especially Gone with the Wind, The Sound of Music and The Ten Commandments. She loved to sneak food to the family dog and loved sitting on the front stoop with her. Ignazia loved receiving presents and getting her nails done by her granddaughter Ava up until her passing. She was short in stature but big in heart and she will be missed dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 8:45 AM. Funeral mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Monday, December 28, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 PM.
