Obituary of Daniel Alejandro Maldonado

Maldonado, Daniel Alejandro age 30 of Garfield at rest in Garfield on November 7, 2020. Beloved son of Flora O. (née Correa) Barroso and her husband Francisco Barroso of Clifton and Gregory Maldonado of Winston Salem, NC. Also surviving are grandfather Jose Correa Sansoni, grandmother Carmen Correa, grandmother Consorcia Colon Perez, five step sisters, Diana, Katia, Guadalupe Baroso, Consorcia Brown, Yasmine and step brother Mathew Maldonado, several cousins, aunts, uncles and his beloved pet dogs, Rocko and Shunkaha. Daniel was born in Paterson, he resided in Paterson, Haledon and Garfield NJ. Daniel was a black belt in Tae Kwon Do who studied at Eastern Fighting Arts. He graduated from Garfield High School in 2009. He was a passionate writer who composed lyrics for music, short stories and poetry. He loved traveling with his mother and grandmother. Daniel was eager to learn about different cultures and people while traveling the world with his family. He was an avid basketball fan and enjoyed playing the game. Daniel was a N.Y. Giants fan. He enjoyed listening to music, especially battle rap. Daniel also relished playing vintage and modern video games with family and friends. Daniel was a kind person who loved his family fiercely. He had a jovial spirit who managed to bring laughter to all those who were blessed to be able to spend time with him. His deep booming voice was charming and comforting to hear. Daniel was a vibrant individual with a keen analytical mind who genuinely cared about the poor and disenfranchised in society. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday November 13, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:30 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Friday from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM.
