Obituary of Alvaro DeJesus Salinas

Salinas, Alvaro DeJesus age 76 of Wayne at rest in Wayne on September 1, 2020. Beloved husband of the former Gloria Rendon. Loving father of Gloria Lilliana Hunt & husband, Ryan, Luis Fernando Salinas and his wife, Nathalie, and Jennifer Salinas & her husband, Christian Mendoza. Devoted brother of Elva Salinas, Maria del Carmen Salinas, Gloria Inez Correa, Lucia Salinas, Mariela Mejia and the late Javier,Mario, Gilberto and Blasina Salinas and the late Luis Fernando. Dear grandfather of Jonathan, Logan, Remy, Ruby, Luna, Serafina, and Sebastián. Born in Medellin, Colombia, he came to the United States in 1968 and lived in Paterson before Wayne. He was an employee for Marcal Paper Co., Elmwood Park before retiring. He had an infectious smile and charisma. He loved to joke around and make others smile. Alvaro was a man who gave himself to others and was always willing to help in any situation. He had a passion for soccer and enjoyed traveling back and forth to his home town of Medellin. He was a man of faith and was deeply devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. He and his wife Gloria recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Mary's RC Church, 410 Union Avenue, Paterson, on Wednesday from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM, with funeral mass to begin at 10:00 AM. Cremation will be private. Arrangements are by Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa.
