Obituary of Remedios Bagtas

Bagtas, Remedios (nee Vergara), age 92 passed away on Friday, June 5, 2020 in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born on October 21, 1927 in the Philippines to Pascual Vergara and Juliana Braga Vergara. She came to the United States in 1977 and resided in Paterson for many years, then in Fairfield, NJ then to Georgia before moving to North Carolina. Remedios was outgoing. She enjoyed arts, crafts, singing, dancing, cooking and scrapbooking family photographs. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus at St. Gerard Church, Paterson. She was also a parishioner of St. John's Cathedral, Paterson, NJ. Beloved wife of the late Jose C. Bagtas (1998). Loving mother of Ruben Bagtas of Paterson, Eduardo Bagtas of Paterson, Liberato Bagtas of Winston-Salem, NC, Reynaldo Bagtas of Winston-Salem, NC, Luz Ricafort of Montville and Evelyn Ferguson of NC. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 sisters. In light of social distancing measures imposed by the state government, all services for Remedios will be private.
