Pomo, Anna C. (nee Cardaci), age 89, passed away peacefully at St Joseph's University Medical Center, Paterson N.J. on May 7th 2020, after a short illness. Anna was born in Hackensack on November 22, 1930 to Philip and Mary Cardaci (nee Martarauno) and was one of 14 children. During high school she met the love of her life, Vincent J Pomo (who predeceased her in 2003). Anna and Vincent raised their 4 children in Clifton, N.J. before moving to Lake Hopatcong, N. J. in 1998. During her home-maker years Anna also worked in electronics, retail and was a bank teller. She especially enjoyed playing Bingo, shopping, and playing N. J. Lottery, but Anna will always be remembered for her crocheting, knitting and crafting talents. She has made countless afghans, scarves, hats and baby sets and enjoyed gifting them to family and friends, as well as many holiday crafts, doll clothing and small toys. Anna was a parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Lake Hopatcong and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. Surviving are her 4 children Francine (and Jack) Cituk, Mary Ellen (and Timothy) Hayes, Philip Pomo (and fiancé Lauren), and Anthony (and Victoria) Pomo, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Gabriella Castiglia and Sylvia Caltagirone, a brother Orlando (and Claudette) Cardaci, and many, many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Private funeral arrangements will be with Festa Memorial Home in Totowa, N.J. Out of respect and concern for public health and safety and the current mandate for social distancing, all funeral services will be private. Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Boulevard, Totowa, NJ is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Veterans with Disabilities, Catholic Charities, Knights of Columbus or catholic mass cards in her remembrance.
