Obituary of Jorge Polo

Polo, Jorge age 62 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on March 29, 2020. Husband of Lenra Polo. Dear son of Jorge Polo Garcia and the late Gilma (nee Amezquita) Polo. Jorge is the father of Natalie Polo, Sarah Polo, Anthony Polo, Erica Polo, Brooke Polo and Brandi Polo. He is the brother of Erik Polo, Hugo Polo, Marla Polo-Zisa, and Gena Polo-Miles. Jorge is also survived by 8 grandchildren and nieces, Belkys, Michelle, Isabel and nephews Adam, Max and Daniel. He was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, and he lived in Paterson, until the age of 18. He attended John F. Kennedy H.S, he played soccer , was a member of the CIE and wresting team, until graduation in 1976. He then joined the US Air Force and moved to Texas. He trained to be a Aircraft Mechanic, once he completed his tour in Texas he stayed in Dallas working for an Aerospace Company. Jorge then moved to Maryland and returned to school at University of Maryland to study Computer Science. and Network engineering. Jorge worked for the VA as an Exchange Engineer Operations Support, MTA, the American Red Cross and then as a Systems Analyst for the University of Maryland at College Park before retiring in 2017. He enjoyed traveling, especially around Washington, D.C. , his home, visiting the museums and learning about the Architecture of all those old buildings. He met many people, from all walks of life, he liked learning about their culture, their language and origin. He also loved music and dancing as well as collecting Asian antiques with his wife, Lenra. All services for Jorge were private.
