Joey, I was so sorry to hear about your mom passing and I wanted to extend my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. I will always remember coming to visit and knocking on your parent's door and Pina was always the first one to see me and she would always yell, 'Joe! Janis is here!' I would get kissed on both cheeks.Then she would invite me in and offer me pasta or cookies or pastry and a drink and I'd sit down and we would talk about my day or my business, then I would hear about what sports you were playing and how good you were and get caught up with life's going on's. And I can't forget Pina's pretty bird, how she was the only one it didn't bite!
As I write this, it's Mother's Day and for you it's the first one without a mother. But Pina loved church so I know she is spending her special day with Jesus in eternity in Heaven with Him.
You may not know this but I lost my mom in 2013. My mom and your mom were born the same year and your mom passed on MY mom's birthday, May 2nd! I am taking this as a sign from God that our moms want us to be in contact again, as a family. Regardless of what happened in the past, regardless of who said or didn't say something, regardless of the 2 brothers not getting along, that should not be a barrier to us, we are cousins and blood relatives always. The son of Joe and the daughter and son of Dominick should not be strangers.
