Freeman, Nellie (nee Howard), age 97 of Bloomingdale at rest in Wayne on April 20, 2020. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Freeman (1978). Loving mother of Jennie Lynne Robertson, Michael David Freeman and his wife Nurys, Louise Ann Freeman, and the late Thomas Joseph Freeman, III. Adoring grandmother of Nelly Grieco and her husband Marco, Christopher Saldivia and his wife Jaclyn, Savannah Leigh Freeman, John Wilson, Heather Caldwell, Jennifer Draeger, and Jacob Wilson. Doting great-grandmother of Matthew, Bella, and Michael Grieco and Baby Saldivia due this August. Dear sister of Ivydell Hogan. Born in Merritt Island, FL, she lived in Florida for 22 years before moving to New Jersey. She was a Telephone Operator for New Jersey Bell, Totowa, and worked at Westinghouse Electric, Bloomfield before retiring. Mrs. Freeman was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church. She also generously gave to Friends of Israel. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering for Nellie and her son Thomas Joseph Freeman, III on June 17, 2020 from 11:30-12:00 PM with a service at 12:00 PM at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa. Inurnment to follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover.
