Obituary of Daniel Coiro

Daniele Coiro was born in San Arsenio, Italy on June 22, 1939, the oldest of 3. He came to Paterson in 1955. His family followed in 1957, his father, Michele Coiro, mother Elizabeta Bracco, and his sister Gina and brother Mario.
On October 25, 1964 he married Raquel Alberty of Englewood, NJ. They have been together ever since.
He was a born entrepreneur and owned and operated several business, but is best known for the Mona Lisa Restaurant in West Paterson and Arena Stone Products in Carlstadt, NJ. He was always well regarded by his business partners and employees alike and loved and respected by many.
Danny was an avid sports fan, especially Soccer which he enjoyed most. He was a long time member of the Roma Club, originally on Cianci Street in Paterson, now in West Paterson.
He moved to Totowa in 1965 and has lived there ever since and raised his family there.
Danny is survived by his wife Raquel, son Michael, his Daughter Danielle and his grandchildren, John and Thomas Rae; Daniel and Gabriella Coiro; his brother Mario Coiro of Flanders, NJ; sister, Gina Pelosi of Salerno, Italy, nieces, Lisa Coiro Mele and Roberta Pelosi, nephews Alfredo Pelosi and Daniel Coiro.
Out of respect and concern for public health and safety as well as the current mandate of social distancing and restrictions on public gatherings, the services will be private and the family has chosen to arrange for a memorial gathering at a later date when the pandemic is over.
