Obituary of Mary Possehl (nee Certaro)

Mary B. Possehl (Certaro), age 57 of Joplin, Mo., passed away suddenly on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Freeman Hospital. Mary was born on October 2, 1962 in Paterson, N.J., the daughter of Ralph and Beverly (Cauda) Certaro. She has been a Joplin resident for 7 years, Mary worked as a Property Manager for Bell Management. She attended First Baptist Church in Joplin. She married, Jay Hix on September 3, 2003, he survives. Additional survivors include her mother; Beverly Certaro, a son; Stephen Sierra and wife Etana of Winchester, Va., a sister; Arlene Maskal of Denville, N.J., and two brothers; Ralph Certaro of Las Vegas, Nv., and James Certaro of Haledon, N.J. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Certaro. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 11-2 PM at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa with a service at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Golden Paws Rescue at 2300 N. Main St., Joplin, MO 64801 or to the Joplin Humane Society at 140 E. Emperor Lane, Joplin, MO 64801.
