Obituary of Stanley Milkowski

Milkowski, Stanley T. age 93 of Paterson and Toms River, at rest in Wayne on September 21, 2019. Beloved husband of the former Catherine "Kay" (nee Pettineo) of Paterson and Toms River. Loving father of Stanley Milkowski of Paterson and the late Thomas Milkowski, (1994). Dear grandfather of Katrina Kuiken and her husband Patrick of West Milford. Stanley was pre deceased by five sisters and four brothers. Also surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson for most of his life before moving to Toms River in 1987. He was a Textile /Colorist for Brewster Textile, Beacon, NY. for many years before retiring in 1989. Mr. Milkowski was a parishioner of St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson where he served as an usher and was Past President of the St. Gerard Seniors. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the European Theater and received the WWII Victory medal, the American Campaign medal, the EAME Campaign medal and the Good Conduct medal. He was a member of the VFW Post# 6063 of Toms River. He was the Past President of the Textile, Printing, Colorist Guild, Paterson. He was also Past President and Past Treasurer of the Polish/American Club, Toms River. He refurbished baseball equipment for Little Leagues in Poland. Stanley enjoyed traveling and tending to his vegetable garden and lawn. He enjoyed the Jersey Shore and his home in Toms River. He was a handyman and a Jack of all trades. He was generous to a fault and cherished time spent with his family and his granddaughter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Interment at the Brigadiere General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, will be private. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00-8:00 PM.
