Ricca, John T. age 76 of Woodland Park at rest in Neptune on September 16, 2019. Beloved husband of Jo Ann (nee Dragonetti) Ricca of Woodland Park. Loving father of John V. Ricca of Woodland Park and Connie Tahinos and her husband Dino of Wayne. Dear grandfather of Sophia Tahinos and one on the way. Brother of Nicholas Ricca and the late Mary Franklin and the late Michael Toscano. Also survived by brothers and sisters in law and many nieces and nephews. Born in Newark, he lived in Nutley before moving to Woodland Park for most of his life. He was a Sheriff's Officer for the Passaic County Sheriff's Department for twenty five years before retiring. Mr. Ricca was a member of PBA Local 286. He was on the team that started the Special Emergency Response Team, the bomb squad and the crime prevention bureau. After retirement, he continued in the security field as a certified SORA instructor with AJ Squared Security, Jersey City. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Sunday from 3:00-6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimers Association, 425 Eagle Rock Avenue, Suite 203, Roseland, NJ 07068 and/or the Christian Health Care Adult Day Service of Wayne, 2000 Siena Village, Wayne, NJ 07470 would be appreciated.
