Obituary of Thomas E Allen

Allen, Thomas E. "Tom", age 93 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on September 15, 2019. Born in Paterson, he lived in Totowa for most of his life. He was a freight director for N.J. Transit, Hoboken for many years before retiring in 1987. Tom was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa where he also served as an usher. He was a 3rd Degree member of the St. James Knights of Columbus Council #6574, Totowa and was a WW II Army veteran serving in Japan. Tom was a Lionel Model Train collector and he enjoyed traveling. He enjoyed gourmet food and fine wine and tending to his vegetable garden. He enjoyed the Jersey shore and cherished time spent with his grandchildren and family. Beloved husband of the late Marie M. (nee Mulhare). Loving father of Ann Marie Soohoo and her husband Lakeland of Butler. Dear grandfather of Thomas and Michael Soohoo. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Friday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 10:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Thursday 4:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, it was Tom's request for you to buy a bottle of fine wine and have a toast to him with your family.
