Demarest, James E. age 79 of Woodland Park at rest in Paterson on December 3, 2013. Beloved husband of Barbara Demarest nee Ulrich. Loving father of James W. Demarest and his wife Linda, Cathleen Reda, Thomas Demarest and his wife Terri, and Trish Savino and her husband Tom. Cherished grandfather of Mike Demarest and his wife Megan, Lisa Demarest, Gene Reda and his wife Michele, Stephen Reda, Aimee, Andrew and Brittany Demarest and Tommy and Kristi Savino. Dear brother of Ed Demarest and his wife Lois. Dear Brother in Law of Joan Ulrich and Ginny and Gerald VanEss. He is predeceased by a beloved son-in-law, Gene Reda. Born in Paterson, he lived in Wyckoff before moving to Woodland Park for most of his life. He was a Utility Repair man for NJ Bell. After that, he was Manager for AT&T, Bedminster before retiring. Mr. Demarest was a baseball coach and former President of the Boys and Girls Club, Woodland Park. He was the Treasurer for the Contact Hotline and was actively involved with the Boys Scouts of America Committee. James was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Friends may visit Friday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758518, Topeka, Kansas 66675 and/or the American Heart Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231 would be appreciated.
