Platt, John age 78 of Totowa at rest in Dover on November 29, 2013. Beloved husband of the late and former Mary Ann Mc Ardle (2004). Loving Father of Joann Potenzone and her husband Albert of Totowa, Tim J. Platt and his wife Cathleen of Little Falls and Richard J. Platt and his wife Betsy of Cedar Grove. Dear Grandfather of Alison Potenzone, Caitlin Platt, Olivea Potenzone, John Platt, Samantha Platt and Daniel Platt. Brother of Elizabeth West of Totowa, Lois Platt of FL., Dorothy "Dot" Favre of FL., Irene Platt of FL., Catherine Spence of Lincoln Park, Helen Ryan of N.C., Fred Platt of FL. and the late Mary Klikier, Norma Hargrove and Paul Platt. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and his Home Health Care Provider, Lester. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson before moving to Totowa in 1974. He was a Firefighter for the Paterson Fire Department, Paterson, for twenty five years before retiring in 1989. Mr. Platt was a member of St. Michael's Men's Club, Paterson. He was also a member of Grieving Widowers Bereavement Group of St. Philips Church, Clifton and a member of the F.M.B.A. Local # 2, Paterson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Tuesday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Bonaventure R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:15 AM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
