I met Theresa (we always called her by her nickname, Terry) through Sr. Christina when they both lived at the Paterson Towers apartments. Because Terry was the only surviving member of her family, Sr. Christina took care to visit Terry and to invite her for occasions to her own apartment. I remember one Thanksgiving when Sr Pat and I joined Sr. Chris and Terry for our little Thanksgiving dinner.
When I learned that Terry had moved to Oakland Care Center, I passed by to see her on my way to a Christian Writers Meeting on first Saturdays of the month. Sr, Christina visited with some Towers friends on some Sundays, but then she and I went together for the past years (maybe 5 years? I have lost track) on the first Saturdays. We would bring Communion to Terry, and Chris stayed for hours while I went to my meeting. We are grateful for our visits with this lovely friend. We also know that Joe Manicone, a man with a heart for the elderly, visited Terry. We know she was ready to go to her new home with the God whom she loved so well. We believe she prays for us now.
