Obituary of Dawn E Terlizzi

Terlizzi, Dawn E. (formerly Dawn Van Ess) age 61 of Totowa at rest in Wayne on January 24, 2019. Loving mother of Dara E. Mc Alister & her husband Scott of Bloomingdale, Dayle Louise Van Ess of Morrisville, NC, and Neil J. Van Ess of Totowa. Dear daughter of Nicholas and Barbara (nee Riley) Terlizzi of Kinnelon, NJ and Naples, Fl. Sister of Paul Terlizzi of Co, John Terlizzi of NH and Danny Terlizzi of Ga. Loving grandmother of Cora Dawn Mc Alister. Also survived by her beloved pet cats, Thelma & Louise and grand dog, Brady and many nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, she lived in Elmwood Park and North Haledon before moving to Totowa in 1988. She was a Registered Nurse for Memorial School, Totowa for many years before retiring in 2006. Dawn was a member of the N.O.C.C. (National Ovarian Cancer Coalition), N.J. Chapter, and was an activist for Ovarian Cancer Awareness. Dawn loved the beach especially in Naples, Florida. She enjoyed sunsets on the beach, and she enjoyed traveling. She enjoyed tending to her garden with her granddaughter. She was an avid reader and cherished time spent with her family, children, and granddaughter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Monday at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
