Obituary of Joseph R Brucato

Brucato, Joseph R. age 93 of Totowa on December 7, 2018. Beloved husband of the former Francis Garafano. Loving father of Joseph Brucato of Toms River and the late Gerald Brucato (2010). Dear grandfather of Joseph Brucato & his wife Brianne of Albany, NY, Lily Brucato, Candice Brucato, and Faith Brucato, all of Toms River. Devoted brother of the late Rosary Palanero. Caring brother in law of Gloria Dykstra of Wayne. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson, before moving to Totowa in 1952. He was an Auto Body Mechanic for Totowa Dodge, Totowa for 20 years before retiring. Mr. Brucato was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. He was as Navy Veteran serving as a Gunners Mate on the USS Independence during WW II . He was a member of VFW Post 2111, Totowa and was a member of the Totowa Borough 1st Aid Squad for over 20 years, serving as their President and Vice President. He also belonged to the NJ State 1st Aid Council. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Tuesday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Monday 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
