Obituary of John Montuori

Montuori, John A. age 87 of Paterson at rest in Wayne on December 3, 2018. Beloved husband of sixty two years of the former Dorothy Tedeschi of Paterson. Loving Father of Karen Peluso and her husband Mike of Woodland Park and Valerie Schmidt of Woodland Park. Dear grandfather of Nicole Peluso, Anthony Peluso, Alexandra Schmidt and Mark John Schmidt. Former father in law of Mark Schmidt. Dear friend and business partner of Bill Carnemolla. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson, then in West Paterson, before moving back to Paterson where he lived most of his life. He was Owner/Proprietor and Master Mechanic of Park Avenue Gulf, Paterson for forty one years before retirining in 1998. After that, he worked part time for Iggy Auto Service, Woodland Park until 2017. Mr. Montuori was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the N.J. Gasoline Retailers Association. He enjoyed tinkering on his 1989 Ford Ranger. He enjoyed working outdoors with landscaping. He also enjoyed a Manhattan straight up with a twist. Mr. Montuori cherished time spent with his grandchildren and his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph's Home for the Elderly, 140 Shepherds Lane, Totowa, N.J. 07512 would be appreciated.
