Schiavo, Joseph, Sr. age 90 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on November 23, 2018. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Vatrano) Schiavo of Paterson. Devoted father of Joseph Schiavo Jr. of West Milford, Anthony Schiavo and his wife Edie of Wayne, Andrew Schiavo and his wife Sandy of Ringwood, Angela Schiavo of Wayne and the late Theresa Francis (1963). Dear grandfather of Michael and Christopher and his wife Yashira. Great-grandfather of Kayla and Joseph. Brother of the late James, Andrew, Alfred, Antoinette, Mary and Yolanda. Dear uncle of Vincent, Alfred, Jr., Christopher, Robert, Brian, Bernadette, Dolores, and Francis. Born in Paterson, he was a lifelong city resident. He worked for the Paterson Board of Education for many years before retiring. Mr. Schiavo served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a Passaic County Constable. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Wednesday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Entombment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Tuesday from 4-8 PM.
