Simonetti, Gilda (Williams) DiGuglielmo, age 91 of Totowa at rest in Cedar Grove on August 14, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Rudolph Simonetti (2006). Loving mother of Sharon Mikolajczyk & her husband, Thomas of Clifton, Debra Zambito & her husband Michael of Parsippany, and Randy Simonetti & his wife Debbie of Totowa. Sister of the late Angelo DiGuglielmo, Vincent DiGuglielmo, and Mary DiGuglielmo. Loving grandmother of Andrew, James, Kristin, Lisa, Andrea, Jessica, Rudy John and Mark. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Born in Paterson, she lived in Totowa since 1949.

Her educational background included: St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing from 1945-1948 for her R.N., Seton Hall University from 1959-1960 for Business, St. John's University from 1960-1963 for her B.S. in Nursing, Rutgers University from 1964-1971 for her B.A. in Psychology, Jersey City State College from 1972-1973 for Certification in School Nursing, Jersey City State College from 1973-1974 for her Certification as a Health Teacher, William Paterson College from 1972-1976 for her M.A.T., Montclair State University from 1974-1975 for Communication, William Paterson College from 1976-1979 for L.D.T.C Certification, William Paterson College from 1979-1980 for Student Personnel Services Certification.

Gilda was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital from 1948-1950 as an operating room nurse, N.Y. Metropolitan Area from 1950-1951 as a physician's assistant, St. Joseph's Hospital from 1951-1954 as a maternity nurse, Paterson General Hospital from 1954-1959 as a maternity nurse, Nabisco Biscuit Company from 1954-1959 as an industrial nurse, St. Joseph's Hospital from 1954-1959 as a private duty nurse, Liberty New York from 1962-1963 as a summer camp nurse, St. Joseph's Hospital from 1960-1971 as an operating room nurse, St. Joseph's Hospital from 1971-1972 as a surgical co-ordinator, Passaic Valley High School from 1972-1973 as a substitute teacher, Franklin School from 1973-1990 as a health educator and school nurse, Berkley School from 1990-2003 as a health educator and school nurse, Lakeside School from 2003-2005 as a health educator and school nurse.

Her other work experience included: Dr. Michael Lewin, Plastic Surgeon from 1950-1951, Dr. John Shultz, General Surgeon from 1979-1980, Dr. Nicholas Marino, OB/GYN from 1983-1996, Montclair Orthopedic Group from 1986-1987. She was a licensed registered nurse in New Jersey and New York from 1948 to present.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Hospital Nurse's Alumni Association and was it's president from March 1, 1973 to March 1, 1998. She was a member of the Essex County School Nurse's Organization and was it's recording secretary for two terms from September 1, 1998 to June 1, 1992 and it's vice president for two terms from 1990 to 1992. She was also a member of St. Joseph's Hospital Nurse's Alumni, Essex County School Nurse's Association, Passaic County School Nurse's Association, St. John's University Alumni, Rutgers University Alumni, William Paterson University Alumni, and the National Education Association.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Monday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James RC Church, Totowa at 12:00 noon. Interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, 703 Main Street, Paterson, NJ 07503.
