I am glad that me and Julie were there today to spend that time with family. We grew up together and most called him Uncle Grumpy. He was an extremely sarcastic guy that started every sentence with a frown but usually ended it with a smile. We used to get in alot of trouble where he would yell at us. He picked on me alot. Thats how I knew he cared. I cant remember a day as a kid when he smiled. But when me and Julie had Matthew, he smiled every time he saw him. Then Emmy and K.K. were born and he was happy from the moment I walked in the door. Maybe cause he saw me go from a dumb kid to a Dad. It was always a pleasure to go there and show up with the kids and see him smile. From the time we walked in to the time we walked out. No matter how he really felt, he seemed happy. I told the kids what happened when we got home and they were sad. They will miss him. Emmy will miss the knookies he gave her every single time he saw her. I will miss the smile on his face when I would show up with the kids. It used to make me think he was proud of me for finally doing something right. Almost 86 years in this world is a major accomplishment, especially after all he had been through. His time has come, and as we would like to think, maybe this is for the best. Although the selfishness in us always want more. I am glad you are finally at peace Uncle Tony. So Sorry to see you go. I will see you again...someday...playing horseshoes for 25 cent antes and drinking beers at the big family picnics in heaven. I almost cant wait. Alll my love goes out to the rest of the family.
