Please share a memory of Kathryn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carluccio, Kathryn, 95, of Totowa passed away on June 12, 2018 in Pequannock, NJ. Kathryn (Kay) was born in Ridgefield, NJ to James and Anna Mulhern (nee Weible) February 18, 1923, raised there, and graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood in 1941. She then started working as a clerk for Sears, Hackensack. During WW II and through 1951 she worked for the Metropolitan Insurance and the A.I.U. Insurance Companies in Manhattan. Married on October 1st, 1950 at the Epiphany Church in Cliffside Park, she and husband John of 67 years moved to Totowa in 1953 where she was a homemaker and they raised their children. Kathryn worked hard to care for her family and extended family. She was modest but strong-willed and guided by her Catholic upbringing. She willingly "came to the rescue" many times, including caring for or taking in the sick. She loved caring for her grandchildren. As a "Grandma", Kathryn became a Cub Scout Co-Den Mother in order to create a new den group for the St. Brendan's Cub Scout Troop, which enabled her grandson and his friends to join the troop. She was active in the St. James School Mothers' Guild. She was a good athlete and had enjoyed recreational sports including basketball and roller skating in her youth and bowling, golf and walking. She took great pleasure in being with family and friends, and in long phone conversations with her friends and relatives. She "loved" New York City and the Jersey Shore. She enjoyed, cooking, baking, shopping, reading, movies, dining, dancing, and the Yankees and Eagles. Kathryn was a good friend to many. Kathryn is survived by husband John A. Carluccio, son John M. Carluccio of Paterson, daughter Carole Carluccio and her husband David Millstein of Alamo, CA and grandsons, John A. Carluccio of Brooklyn, James Carluccio of Paterson and Michael Millstein of Walnut Creek, CA, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by sister Helen Kuenzle and brother James Mulhern. Visitation is Saturday, June 16 from 12 -3 PM with Service following at 3 PM at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Greater New Jersey Chapter, 3 Eves Drive, Suite 310, Marlton, NJ 08053 (www.alz.org).
