Obituary of Thomas Rizzo

Rizzo, Thomas "Tom", Jr. age 92 of Bloomfield at rest in Ridgewood on May 30, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Yolanda "Lonnie" (nee Sarcone) (1/12/2018). Loving Father of Patricia A Krapels & her husband Glenn of Woodland Park and Thomas J. Rizzo of Sussex. Dear grandfather of Ashley L. Krapels of Woodland Park, Trevor S. Krapels of Woodland Park, Blake T. Krapels of New York, NY, Nicole De Luca of Netcong, and Wesley De Luca of Colorado. Loving great grandfather of Strummer, Presley, & Marley De Luca. Brother of Ronald Rizzo of California. Born in Newark, he lived in Bloomfield for most of his life.. He was an HVAC Foreman for the Meadowlands Racetrack, East Rutherford for many years before retiring in 1998. Mr. Rizzo was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, Bloomfield  He was a member of the International Union of Operating Enginners, Local# 68, West Caldwell.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. Thomas the Apostle Council #13174, Bloomfield. Tom was a WW II Navy veteran serving in the European Theater and the Pacific Theater. He was an avid salt water Fisherman. He enjoyed his shore home with his wife and family. He was an all-around handyman and a jack of all trades. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, Bloomfield at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery Mausoleum, Bloomfield. Friends may visit Sunday 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
