Finer, Michael (Mike) Gage, 63, died on May 22, 2018 at home in Neptune NJ. He was born in NYC on March 15, 1955 to the late Lee Ann Taylor Finer & Charles Finer. He lived in the Paterson/Clifton area until relocating to Fair Lawn where he resided for 23 years until his retirement. Mike served in the U.S. Army from 1973-1976. He became a Paterson Firefighter until he fulfilled his lifelong dream and joined the Paterson Police Department. He retired in 2009 as Detective Captain of the Major Crimes Division. He received the Mayor's Medal, several State PBA awards for meritorious service and letters of commendation. He was a member of PBA Local One, PBA Local 600 & NJ State Police Honor Legion. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Maryann Baskinger Finer and his children Dawn M. Finer of Clifton and Michael A. Finer of Hoboken and his "soulmate" Harley. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, May 30th at Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa from 4-7pm with a memorial service immediately following at 7pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the NJ State PBA Survivor and Welfare Fund or to the Salvation Army to support volcano disaster relief efforts in Hawaii.
