Obituary of Paul J Traina

Traina, Paul J. Sr., age 86 of Totowa passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on March 29, 2018. Beloved husband of 63 years of the former Pauline Passafaro of Totowa. Loving Father of Paul J Traina, Jr. & his wife Tricia of Scottsdale, AZ., Michael Traina & his wife Elizabeth of Sparta, and Thomas Traina & his wife Dawn of Mullica Hill. Brother of Salvatore Traina of Toms River, and the late Carmela Adamo (2008), and Joseph Traina (2007). Dear grandfather of Susan Malone & her husband John, Francis, John, Michael Jr., Marisa, Thomas Jr., Matthew and the late Paul III (2012). Adoring great grandfather of Maddie and Margot. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived in Totowa for most of his life. He was an employee for Hoffman- La Roche, Nutley and Clifton for 25 years before retiring. Prior to that he worked as an Electronic Assembler for Singer-Kearfott in Totowa for 10 years. Mr. Traina was a parishioner of St. James RC Church, Totowa and was a member the of St. James Travel Group and enjoyed traveling. He was a committee member for the Cub Scouts Pack 26, Totowa. He served as secretary for the Totowa PAL. He was a past exhaulted ruler for the Passaic Valley Elks Lodge #2111 and was a lifelong avid N.Y. Yankee Fan. He was the State Vice President for B.P.O.E. and was the president of the handicap children's committee for the Cerebral Palsey Center, Clifton. He was a past Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, St. James Council #6574 and was a 4th degree member of the Msgr. Stein Assembly and a member of the Color Guard and was a member of the Totowa Happy Seniors. He was also a member of the Italian American Independent Club. He cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Monday 7:00 - 9:00 PM and Tuesday 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
