Pons Diaz, Lydia age 91 of Wayne formerly of Totowa at rest in Wayne on December 10, 2017. Loving mother of Wilbur Pons and his wife Marlene of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA and Desiree Corradino and her husband G. Dolph of Little Falls and Naples, FL. Predeceased by her former husband Emil Pons (2017). Adoring grandmother of Anthony Maietta and his wife Leslie of Holyokie, MA, Alexa Curcio of Nashville, TN, Kristen Snow and her husband Michael of CA, Michelle Pons of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, and Rachel Pons of CA. Dear great-grandmother of Morrison Maietta. Loving aunt of Gladys Herrero and her husband Andy of Totowa, Mayra Diaz Ballard and her husband Tommy of KY, and Ralph Diaz, Jr. of New Milford. Born in Havana, Cuba, she lived in Havana until 1937 before coming to the United States and settling in New York City for 5 years before living in North Bergen for 13 years, then in Oakland for 6 years, then Totowa until 2014 before eventually moving to Wayne. She was a Homemaker. Mrs. Diaz was a parishioner of Holy Angels R.C. Church, Little Falls, and she attended Calvary Assembly of God, Wayne. She loved going to the movies with her sister and very much enjoyed her daughter's home at the Jersey shore. She was a great cook and enjoyed traveling to California. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Friday at 9:30 AM. Funeral mass to follow at Holy Angels R.C. Church, Little Falls at 10:00 AM. Cremation will be private. Relatives and Friends may visit Thursday 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
