Obituary of John J Minchin

Minchin, John J. "Jack" age 93 of Totowa at rest in Paterson on July 3, 2017. Dear brother of Elizabeth Garrity and the late Doris McGuiness (2012), Evelyn Minchin (1965) and Edwin Minchin (1990). Also survived by over sixty nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived in Paterson for most of his life before moving to Totowa in 1985. He was a Supervisor for Sears Roebuck & Co., Hawthorne, for many years before retiring in 1987. He was a parishioner of St. Mary R.C. Church, Paterson. He was a WWII Army veteran and awarded the Purple Heart and received the European Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon with one star. Mr. Minchin was an avid golfer and shot 2 holes in one at 85 years of age one week apart. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Saturday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Paterson at 9:00 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Friday 4:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary's R.C.
