Obituary of John Capo

Capo, John age 79 of Totowa at rest in Wayne on June 4, 2017. Beloved husband of fifty six years of the former Catherine O'Connell of Totowa. Loving Father of Karen Mc Collick and her husband Steve of South Hampton, PA., Sandi Sigler and her husband Craig of Roseland and John Capo of Totowa. Dear grandfather of Josh Sigler and his fiancée Theresa, Julianna Mc Collick, Matthew Sigler, Michael Sigler, Alexandra Capo, Samantha Capo and Connor Mc Collick. Brother of Frank Capo of Little Falls and Anthony Capo of Woodland Park. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Born in West Paterson, he has lived in Totowa for the past fifty six years. He was Secretary/Treasurer for Brick Layers And Allied Craft Workers, (B.A.C.), Local #4, Morristown for ten years before retiring in 2001. Mr. Capo served an apprenticeship as a brick layer and cement finisher from 1955 to 1958. He then became a journeyman from 1958 to 1988 and was very proud to be a part of the Union. He was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. He was a lifelong avid hunter and was a proud member of the N.R.A. He was a history buff, an avid boxing fan and a huge fan of the Godfather trilogy. He was a N.Y. Giants and N.Y. Yankee fan. He was very proud of his Italian heritage and it's traditions. Mr. Capo cherished time spent with his grandchildren and his family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum, Totowa. Relatives and friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
