Obituary of Rose Scarnaty

Scarnaty, Rose (nee Vancheri) age 76 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on April 10, 2017. Beloved wife of forty eight years of the late Francis P. "Fran" Scarnaty (2012). Loving Mother of Christine Viscito and her husband Rocco of Milford, Deborah Morello and her husband Nicholas of Woodland Park and Frank J. Scarnaty and his wife Domenica of Ringwood. Dear grandmother of Nicholas Morello, Martino Scarnaty, Maggie Morello, Frankie Scarnaty, Alexandria Viscito and Serina Scarnaty. Cherished sister of Giovanni "John" Vancheri of Totowa, Mike Vancheri and his wife Theresa of Indiana, PA., Anthony "Tony" Vancheri and his wife Anna of Paterson and Giuseppe "Joseph" Vancheri and his wife Maria of Hawthorne. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Born in Villa Rosa, Prov di Palermo, Sicily, Italy, she came to the U.S.A. in 1953 settling in Paterson before moving to Totowa in 1999. She was a Hair Stylist for Piera's, Totowa for many years before retiring. Prior to this, she was employed by the Paterson Pastry Shop. Mrs. Scarnaty was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. She was a graduate of Como Beauty Culture College. She was a great cook and baker. She was an avid N.Y. Yankee and N.Y. Giant fan. She enjoyed the beach and collecting seashells. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and cherished her time spent with them, especially her grandchildren. She was well known and liked in the community, and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Laurel Grove Memorial Park Mausoleum, Totowa. Relatives and friends may visit Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
