Obituary of Michael J. Lobosco

Lobosco, Michael J. Jr., age 93 of Totowa at rest in Wayne on March 11, 2017. Michael was born to the late Michael and Maria Teresa (nee Russo) Lobosco on March 4, 1924 at 9 Ellison Street, Paterson. He was a long-time employee of Watson Flagg and General Electric as a machinist in their gear motor division. As a machine gunner in WWII, he served with the 639th anti-aircraft artillery in the European Theater and was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge. He married his Italian bride "Antoniette", the love of his life in 1948 – they were married for 60 years. Michael was a good-natured soul with a warm smile who along with Antoniette opened his home to many family members over the years. A resident of Totowa for 63 years, he could be found many a day walking to get the daily newspaper, ostensibly to check on the lottery results. It was nothing for Mike to take a "short" stroll from his home on Grant Ave. to visit family on McBride Ave. in Paterson with the intention of having a Libby's hot dog all-the-way. A parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, he was a founding member of The Lobosco Association and a member of American Legion Post #227 of Totowa. Beloved husband of the late and former Antonia Agresti. Devoted father of Theresa Lobosco of Totowa and Clelia De Souter and her husband Marc of Wayne. Cherished "Pop Pop" of Marissa and Yvonne De Souter. He was preceded in death by his brother Angelo and sister, Jean Cain. He leaves many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa on Thursday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Interment at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
