Obituary of Eugene A Ridgeway

Ridgeway, Eugene A. "Gene" age 75 of Totowa at rest in Ridgewood on January 22, 2017. Beloved husband of 50 years of Barbara A. (nee Kay) Ridgeway of Totowa. Loving father of Kimberly A. Armellino & her husband, John of Marlton, and Pamela J. Niglio & her husband, David of Marlton. Dear grandfather of Aiden & Katie Armellino and Kelsey & Megan Niglio. Born in Paterson, he was a lifelong resident of Totowa. He was an Adjunct Professor for William Paterson University, Wayne. Prior to this, he was the Principal for Washington Park and Memorial Schools in Totowa for many years, before retiring in 2014. Gene was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson and was a United States Coast Guard Veteran. He was a volunteer firefighter and former Captain and Ex Chief of the Totowa Fire Department and was a Trustee and Treasurer for the Riverview Park Fire Company. He was also with the North Jersey Relief Association. He was a member of the Passaic Valley Regional High School Board of Education, Little Falls and was an avid fisherman. He was a N.Y. Yankees and N.Y. Giants Fan. He enjoyed his vegetable garden and enjoyed to travel. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Thursday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of Pompeii R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Wednesday 4-8 PM.
