Obituary of Lucy Gioffre

Gioffre, Lucy (nee Zoccolillo) of Hackensack at rest on December 31, 2016. Born in Italy to Marco and Luigia Zoccolillo, Lucy spent her early childhood in Haledon, NJ, and subsequently lived in Paterson, North Haledon, Deerfield Beach, FL, and Hackensack. She supported the World War II effort working in administration at Curtis Wright in Paterson and Lyndhurst. She then worked as a legal secretary for Louis Santorf in Paterson. Married in 1947 to her beloved husband Joseph Gioffre (2001) she kept a fine home, raised two children and in later years worked on and off at the family business, Industrial Petroleum Supply Co., in Hackensack. Mrs. Gioffre was a member of St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughter Janet and son Louis, and also survived by her dearest brother Roger of Williamsburg, VA, a sister-in-law Terry Gioffre of Clifton and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Lucy was vibrant, with a lovely spirit, and kept many cherished close friends and relatives throughout her life; many of who passed before her. For those that she touched, her ageless quality was remarkable and she will be missed tremendously by those of us left behind. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Saturday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson at 10:00 AM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
