Obituary of Elpidio Guzman

Guzman, Elpidio age 82 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on September 30, 2016. Beloved husband of Antonia (nee Gil) Guzman of Paterson and the late Mercedes (nee Perez) Guzman (1998). Loving father of Mercy Baez of Paterson, Aura Guzman of PA, Willy Guzman of Paterson, Ramona Guzman of Paterson, and Thelma Guzman of Newark. Dear son of the late Luis and the late Anna Sofia (nee Vargas) Guzman. Brother of Romeo Guzman of the Dominican Republic. Elpidio is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Born in the Dominican Republic, Elpidio came to the United States in 1966 and resided in Paterson. He was the Owner of Amsco Supermarket, Paterson for many years before retiring. Mr. Guzman was a parishioner of St. John's Cathedral, Paterson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Monday 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/index.
