Obituary of Ashley Ann Barnes

Barnes, Ashley Ann age 19 of Totowa at rest in Italy on August 7, 2016. Dear daughter of Edward Barnes, Sr. of Totowa and the late Nancy (nee Hartsough) Barnes (2006). Loving sister of Edward Barnes, Jr. of Totowa, and Erik Barnes of Cherry Hill. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Ashley lived in Totowa for most of her life. She was a Sailor in the United States Navy based in Gaeta, Italy, serving as an Information Systems Technician. She was a June 2014 graduate of Passaic Valley High School, where she played varsity field hockey. Ashley graduated from boot camp on October 3, 2014. She graduated Information Systems Technician "A" School on March 26, 2015. She reported to the USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20) on April 19, 2015. She qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist on July 1, 2016. Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service on Monday at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. Friends may visit Sunday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, NJ Division Inc., Bergen County Unit, 20 Mercer Street, Hackensack, NJ would be appreciated.
