Romano, Alfredo age 85 of Totowa at rest in Totowa on August 4, 2016. Beloved husband of 61 years of Maria Concetta ( nee De Meola) Romano of Totowa. Loving father of Rosa Gallo and her husband Gennaro of Wayne, Silvana Romano of Totowa, Marisa Lesko and her husband Gregg of Rumson, Salvatore J. Romano and his wife Giovanna of North Plainfield, and Tonino Romano and his wife Maria of Totowa. Grandfather of Giovanna and Giovanni Gallo, Nina, Gabriella and Salvatore Briganti, Victoria and Stephanie Lesko, Salvatore Jr., Maria, Michael, Marcello and Alexa Marie Romano. Great-grandfather of Jude Marchetti. Also survived by 2 brothers and 1 sister in Italy and many nieces and nephews in Italy. Born in San Lorenzello, Prov di Benevento, Italy, he came to the United States in 1966 and resided in Paterson before moving to Totowa 4 years ago. He was a Foreman for Sunbright Dye Co., Passaic, for many years before retiring in 1994. He was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa and St. Gerard R.C. Church, Paterson. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He was a handyman and enjoyed tending to his garden, and made homemade wine. He also enjoyed movies and starred in a short film in Italy with Sophia Loren. He also enjoyed the Jersey Shore and the country. Alfredo cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Monday at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C.
