Vincent J. Andreano, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, Memorial Day, surrounded by family. Vincent was husband of Rosemary (Kahle) for 63 years until her death in 2013. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Surving are daughter Elise Mundrick and husband Frank; daughter Therese Catini-Malloy and husband Jim Malloy; son Jim and wife Kathy; daughter Janice and husband Ron Tolomeo; daughter Lauren; and daughter Rosemarie Erickson and husband Paul. He leaves behind grandchildren Amy Giesler and husband Jon; Sarah Mundrick and husband Jorge Collazos; Michelle Violante and husband Lou; Matt Andreano and wife Tatjana; Joe Andreano; Kevin Andreano and wife Elizabeth; Carolyn and Andrew Cutillo; Melanie and Ryan Tolomeo; Chris Erickson and husband Mike Pfeffer; and Steven, Leann and Thomas Erickson. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Carson and Autumn Giesler; and Michael, Nicholas and Gianna Violante; Grace, James, and Leonardo Andreano. Also surviving is a brother Ralph and wife Ann; brother and sister in law John and Catherine Kahle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in both NJ and Ohio. He was predeceased by son Michael in 1974, and by brothers Frank, Tony, Peter, and sisters Angie, Angelina, Josie, and Jennie. Born in Paterson, NJ, Vincent went to St. Michael's elementary and St. John's High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy, and served in the South Pacific during World War II. It was during his training in Toledo, Ohio, that he met the love of his life, Rosemary, at a USO gathering. After the war, they married and settled in Paterson, and later in 1963 in Totowa where they raised their family. Vincent managed a shoe repair shop in Bamberger's in Newark. Later, he worked for the Meadowlands Sports and Exposition Authority, and was the Head of Operations at Giants Stadium until his retirement. Vincent was a man of devout faith, devotion to family, and commitment to helping others. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Michael's in Paterson, as well as the Knights of Columbus of St. James, the Msgr. Stein Assembly #0645, Woodland Park, a founding member of the VFW Post 10104,Totowa and the Totowa Seniors. Vincent enjoyed family gatherings, which often included friendly card games, and always included lots of sweets. He was never happier than when he was giving toys and treats to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all who offered support and prayers. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., totowa on Friday at 9:00 AM. Funeral mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday from 4-8 PM.
