Obituary of Raffaele Maritato

Maritato, Raffaele age 97 of Totowa at rest in Wayne on December 6, 2015. Beloved husband of the late Concetta (nee Esposito) Maritato (2008). Loving father of Oreste Maritato and his wife Pasqualina of Wantage, Bruno Maritato of Totowa, Giuseppina Porporino and her husband Francesco of Hawthorne, and Carmela Forestiero and her husband Filippo of Totowa. He was predeceased by five sisters and seven brothers. Dear grandfather of Raffaele Maritato, Roberto Porporino, Concetta Neseconti, Concetta Maritato, Franco Porporino, Rosanna Vittorioso, Marcello Maritato, and Daniela Maritato. Great-grandfather of Gennaro Vittorioso, Giuseppe Vittorioso, Gianluca Vittorioso, Valentina Neseconti, Dante Neseconti, Gisella Maritato, Gianna Bella Porporino and Marcello Antonio Maritato. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Cetraro, Italy, he came to the United States in 1975 and lived in West Paterson before moving to Totowa. He was an employee for the State Forestry in Italy. He was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa. He was an avid gardener and farmer. Mr. Maritato was also a construction laborer. He served in WWII in Italy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Laurel Grove Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Tuesday 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
